Soccer Reads!

At SYS we firmly believe that literacy is an integral part of an individual’s overall health and wellness.  To increase our positive impact on Native youth, this summer we will institute the Soccer Reads! program to promote reading as an enjoyable leisure activity.  Soccer Reads! will pursue this goal through three avenues: a reading buddy partnership between players and

coaches; an incentive program for youth to reward reading; and a mobile library that provides free books to Native youth.

As we launch the Soccer Reads! initiative, we are first and foremost looking for book donations to help build our mobile Soccer Reads! library.  This mobile library will be comprised of books appropriate for children/youth between the ages of 4-16.  If you are interested in donating books or would like to help with the Soccer Reads! program in any way, please don’t hesitate to contact SYS.

As the Soccer Reads! program gets underway, more and more information will be added to this page, so keep checking back.
